Through all the disputes in religion, there is still no doubt that meditation is an important aspect of each of them. Meditation represents the harmony between the mind, body, and soul. It is what gives us inner peace. Sometimes we get too busy with everything that is happening around us and our body reacts to cope with the fast pace. Spiritual meditations allow the mind to relax and clam down. In turn, it releases the tension and pressure built up in the body and it brings back balance in our lives. When we are in a state of meditation, we are in a state of peace. It does not mean, however, that we stop thinking. When meditating, we are still conscious; it only means that we become more attentive to our body and mind rather than our surroundings.

They say that in prayer we talk to the Divine. Meditation, on the other hand, is when we listen rather than speak. It is only then that the portal to the spiritual world opens for us, and it is only then that we are able to communicate fully with the spirits. Spiritual meditations lead to spiritual development. As we meditate, we learn to loosen our grip on the world and allow ourselves to surrender to a greater power. This allows us to clear up all the cluttered thoughts in our minds and experience peace and tranquility. The inner peace you feel would change your whole outlook in life and this would radiate to the way you treat others as well. Inner peace would lead to wisdom, and wisdom would, in turn, lead to a higher emotional intelligence known as empathy.

Stress is the greatest factor that causes imbalance in our lives. When we experience too much stress in our lives, our emotional states become fragile and reactive as we become sensitive to all the little things that are happening around us. As a result, we always experience fear, jealousy, anger, confusion, and all sorts of negativity. Emotional stress is also the root cause of most illnesses we experience; when the mind is strained, the energy is reflected to our bodies, and as a result, we develop illnesses. And when our physical life becomes too hectic, we get tied down to Earthly matters, and in the end, we gradually lose our connection to the spiritual world.

The emotional stress we get daily can be counteracted by constant spiritual meditation. It allows healing for all aspects in our lives: physical, mental, and spiritual. Aside from healing, other benefits of consistent spiritual meditations could also be experienced. These include: improved memory, concentration, and attentiveness; strengthening of our resistance against illness and stress; better understanding of the views and belief of others, and the establishment of better relationships with others; and the re-establishment of our connection to the Divine.

With the demands of our lives in the modern world, however, we usually end up eliminating spiritual meditations from our schedules. However, busy schedules should not prevent us from connecting with our inner spirituality. It only takes a few minutes to perform meditation, and all you need is just a peaceful and quiet place where you can relax your mind. This quick time off would be rewarded greatly as spiritual meditations not only provide inner peace, it also allows us to take full control of our lives.
